I am a potter
A college ceramic class that I took for fun has turned into my life passion and adventure. While for many years ceramics was what I did everyday, now as a mom of two boys, life is very different. My pace of making has slowed down but my passion is still the same.
Each item is made from a thin sheet of clay that is formed by hand, nothing is slip cast. Every piece is very similar but not exactly the same. All my glazes are also hand mixed, and as such there are some variations in the finished product, which I think is part of the charm.
The name of my business, Studio Giverny, is inspired by a visit to Monet’s home and garden in Giverny, France. It was in Giverny where I fell in love with the idea of making a place, a vessel, that was inspired by nature and connected nature to our homes.
I hope that when people see and feel my work, it will spark a smile and light up their homes.
Thank you for our support.
