I am a potter
A college ceramic class that I took for fun has turned into my life passion and adventure. I like to spend long hours at the studio perfecting skills and designs.
Each item is made from a thin sheet of clay that is formed by hand. Nothing is slip cast for mass production. I hand mix all my glazes, tweaking the recipes now and then in search of the right finish.
The name of my business, Studio Giverny, is inspired by a visit to Monet’s home and garden in Giverny, France. I marveled at how Monet had made his garden with specific plants in mind. I fell in love with the idea of making a place, a vessel, that was inspired by nature.
Thanks for visiting and please enjoy my garden!
